HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY

​The Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy program has two hyperbaric chambers for the treatment and management of complex wounds. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an outpatient treatment that involves breathing 100% pure oxygen inside a pressurized chamber. This innovative treatment delivers high concentrations of oxygen to the bloodstream to promote healing and fight infection. It also stimulates the growth of new blood vessels and improves circulation. 

Our wound care specialists design personalized hyperbaric oxygen treatment plans for patients based on diagnosis from their referring physician.

  • Gas gangrene
  • Acute traumatic peripheral ischemia
  • Crush injuries and suturing of severed limbs
  • Progressive necrotizing infections (necrotizing fasciitis)
  • Acute peripheral arterial insufficiency
  • Preparation and preservation of compromised skin grafts
  • Chronic refractory osteomyelitis
  • Osteoradionecrosis
  • Soft tissue radionecrosis
  • Actinomycosis
  • Diabetic wounds of the lower extremities in patients who meet the following criteria:
    • Patient has type I or type II diabetes and has a lower extremity wound that is due to diabetes
    • Patient has a wound classified as Wagner grade Ill or higher; and
    • Patient has failed an adequate course of standard wound therapy​
