SPORTS INJURIES AND TREATMENTS AT ST. LOUISE REGIONAL HOSPITAL
St. Louise orthopedists focus on minimally invasive techniques to promote early recovery. Whenever possible, our orthopedic specialists use arthroscopic approaches to avoid open surgery. During arthroscopy, we insert compact surgical tools through a small incision. This type of procedure reduces recovery time and scarring while improving results.
We treat a variety of common hip and knee injuries, including:
- Labral tears affecting the tissue in the hip socket
- Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in the knee
- Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) or posterolateral corner (PLC) knee injuries

Cartilage Restoration
St. Louise offers cartilage restoration procedures such as cartilage grafts and microfracture cartilage repairs. Repairing cartilage can help alleviate pain in patients with arthritis, often allowing them to avoid joint replacement surgery.
Specialty Joint Imaging
Our orthopedics department offers specialty imaging, including magnetic resonance (MR) arthrogram and computerized tomography (CT) arthrogram. These procedures involve injecting a contrast dye into the joint prior to taking close-up images, providing a more accurate diagnosis.
Supporting Your Recovery
We work closely with physical therapists and quality rehabilitation facilities to help you get up and moving again quickly.
Our physical therapy center is conveniently located next to the hospital, offering a hydrotherapy pool to enhance your rehabilitation. St. Louise orthopedists also provide platelet rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections for arthritic conditions to promote better healing.
