ABOUT  THE DAISY AWARD?

The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune system) Award is an international recognition program that honors and celebrates the skillful, compassionate care nurses provide every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he died from complications of the auto-immune disease ITP in 1999. During his hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you” to nurses in a very public way.

Please say thank you by sharing your story about an extraordinary nurse at Saint Louise Regional Hospital.

HISTORY OF DAISY AT SAINT LOUISE

Saint Louise Regional Hospital has been recognizing extraordinary nurses since 2014. Since the program’s induction, 11 nurses have been the recipient of the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses, and the Mother-baby unit as well as the Intensive Care Unit have received the DAISY Team Award. This history highlights that the Nurses are proud of the extraordinary care they give to their patients at this hospital.

MEANINGFUL RECOGNITION

Research supports the powerful impact of meaningful recognition, and the DAISY Award is a great example. Over 4800 health care facilities around the world use the DAISY Award to recognize extraordinary nurses. Saint Louise Regional Hospital is proud to recognize our nurses with this special honor.
